Carausius, Romano-British Emperor, 286-293. Antoninianus (Silvered bronze, 24 mm, 3.60 g, 7 h), uncertain mint ('C' mint), circa 286/7-290. IMP CARAVSIVS P F AVG Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Carausius to right. Rev. PAX AVG / C Pax standing front, head to left, holding olive branch in her right hand and long scepter in her left. RIC 303. RIC V.5 2473b. Webb 358. A beautiful piece, boldly struck on a full flan and with an exceptionally impressive portrait. Very minor weakness on the reverse, otherwise, good extremely fine.
